What students learn about Animal Behavior is enriched by what they learn about asking questions and pursuing answers in controlled experiments. Working in your classroom life-science laboratory, students evaluate behavior as a response to environmental stimuli. Students first observe how their mealworm react to ten different types of conditions, including light, heat, wind, water, surface, barriers, and forced-turn and T-mazes. Students combine curiosity and experience to conduct original experiments that investigate their own questions. By the end of the unit, students are repeating the process with pupae and adult beetles.
